If you haven't tried it yet, Periscope is a super fun and exciting new app created by Twitter that allows you to stream live video a the tap of your app!
I'm just a newbie but here are a few things that I have learned about Periscope so far and how you can get started too:
- You can create an account using your Twitter account. This also allows you to tweet links to your followers to get more views.
- When you are watching a broadcast you can text messages to the broadcaster and send them tons of love to encourage them by tapping on your screen and sending them hearts! I love giving hearts!
- When you open the app, there are four icons at the bottom of the screen:
The Television allows you to see which live broadcasts are available and provides a list of videos that have been created by the people that you follow. (Keep in mind that videos stay on the app for only 24 hours)
The World gives you access to where in the world live public broadcasts are occurring. These aren't necessarily people you are following but they are some pretty cool public broadcasts from all over the world for you to watch.
The Camera is where the fun really begins! This is where you can broadcast LIVE from your phone! When you start a broadcast you have to give it a name (don't make it too long- this will make it easier for you to tweet the link). You'll also have the option to make your broadcast public or private or limit the chat.
The People icon allows you to see shows you who you already follow on Twitter and are also on Periscope. You can follow others by clicking on the plus sign next to each Twitter handle on your list. There is a search feature at the top of the screen that allows you to find your fave people that may be using the app. You can also access your personal information by tapping on the person icon at the top of the screen.
So those are just a few of the things that I have learned so far and I have to say I LOVE THIS APP! I have so much fun seeing and hearing so many of the amazing bloggers out there and it is the coolest way to truly get to know some of your favorite people out there!
